20 THOUSAND SQUARE METERS ARE CALLED IN HONOR OF JOBS not because of the purchase of the Apple Inc. animation studio. in 1986; The fact is that the founder of the company was very reverent about this space and almost personally selected each brick for the building. Chief campus designer Craig Payne likes to describe a long history of choosing materials for construction: steel, as Jobs instructed, was specially oxidized in the parking lot at the construction site to give it a more “romantic” look, and the brick for the facade was chosen from 10 different shades.

AFTER HIS DEATH SOMETHING HAS CHANGED: for example, a huge copy of the Luxo Jr. lamp appeared at the entrance to the building. - the character of the first animated film Pixar and the directorial debut of John Lasseter in 1986. Payne says that Jobs would never allow to put something like this: he was always skeptical of this kind of irony and tried to avoid unnecessary infantilism. An Australian company that created this props for the Pixar show in 2006 donated a lamp and a rubber ball (a couple meters high) to Lasseter. In addition to the functions of the mascot at Luxo Jr. there is also a practical task - in the evenings it lights up the entrance to the main building.

STEVE JOBS INSURERS BUILDING IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENTRANCE INTO ATRIUM - a huge two-tiered space, which is decorated every year in a new way. For Pixar, 2013 is the year of the University of Monsters, so the company’s employees are met by Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan, as well as everyone who ever received Oscars, Golden Globes and Annie Awards. The atrium is so big that once aerial acrobats from Cirque du Soleil appeared in it - the world learned about it from Twitter Lee Unkrich, the director of “Nemo” and “Toy Story”, who formulated his feelings about what was happening like this: “Working in Pixar is just a circus of some kind. ON THE FIRST FLOOR ALSO THE ROOM IS LOCATED, which in English best defines the concept of the cereal bar, which can only be translated into Russian as a breakfast cereal bar. They even made a separate cartoon about this corner of the studio - there are more than a hundred varieties of different granola, cereals, flakes and other cereals: from Nestle and Captain Crunch to Cheerios and Corn Pops. There are also other, mandatory for American breakfast products: peanut butter, jam, milk and fruit.

BARRELINE ACROSS - THE MAIN IN THE CAMPUSA RESTAURANT with a wood-burning oven for vegan pizza, a burrito bar and a special zone for healthy drinks. Cafes are specially located on the ground floor - to attract people from different parts of the building to the Atrium. As conceived by Jobs, it is here that the trajectories of all studio workers should intersect, and even the toilets are located in the building in one place, namely on the first floor.

On the second tier of the building there is a gallery of pictures of multipliers that are not related to the films of the studio, and working rooms directly. The animators take the issue of decorating their workspace seriously: for example, one of them built a tropical bar with coconuts and palm trees in his studio, and the other organized himself a whole second tier with a bed. According to Payne, Jobs hated the fruits of self-realization of his employees, but it never occurred to him to forbid anything - he always relied on the fact that everyone should have their own choice.
