From the history of the station
In the 17th century this place was locatedKalanchevskoe field, which was the royal palace of wood. The palace had a tower - a tower, and it was called Kalanchevsky, and the square - Kalanchevsky field. Specifically, the station was the New Artillery Field Court. In 1812, the shells exploded in it, and the yard was destroyed.
At the initiative of the professor of mathematics F.V. Chizhov, with the help of the Moscow merchant IF. Mamontov and the architect R.I. Kuzmin was started construction. And on 22.07.1862 the first train departed from Yaroslavl station to Sergiev Posad. Completed it and the platform already from 1902 to 1910 years. The station survived two global renovations - the first in 1966 and the second in 1995.
At the last the fullredevelopment of premises, more than doubled the passenger flow, repaired the old gallery and column hall, installed an electronic information system and an automatic fire-extinguishing system.
